Angra dos Reis is the biggest nautical
pole of Brazil with thousands of beaches and 365 islands.
This brilliant landscape is surrounded by Mata Atlântica
which overlooks the calm, crystal-clear waters. Angra lies
in the centre of the Costa Verde in the state of Rio de Janeiro,
one of the most beautiful regions of the country in which
dozens of nautical clubs, condos and hotels are based near
the sea. Paraty, declared a world patrimonial heritage, can
be found several miles away. It is an ancient city full of
protected colonial constructions. Paraty's bay also encloses
dozens of islands, beaches and abundant vegetation.
Protected by Ilha Grande, this huge bay with its 365 some
privately owned islands provides an ideal cruising ground
with a regular daily sea breeze between between 8 –
14 knots, and short distances between the islands inviting
you to stop in secluded anchorages, enjoy a BBQ, do some snorkelling
or diving, stroll along the sandy beaches or discover the
islands following the many trails.

Angra starting point
2 hours’ drive from the international airport of Rio
de Janeiro, with flights to the main
cities of the world. Transfers for groups can be organized
in minicoach, or individual travel with air-conditioned modern
coaches from central rodoviaria in Rio to Angra dos Reis.
Seasons
Sailing season: all year long. Winter temperatures vary between
20 and 25° C during daytime, cool at night. Water temperature
approx. 24°C. Summers are hot, approx. 30 – 35°C,
but still agreeable thanks to the sea breeze building up during
the day. Water temperature approx. 28°C.
Strong points

Various options of leisure : bars and restaurants, walks on
trails through the forest, horse rides and bathing in waterfalls.
